The GHS P&C Annual General Meeting will be held at school on Wednesday 3 April at 6pm in the Administration Office. About Gorokan High P&C Gorokan High P&C supports the school through engagement with school leadership, students, parents and carers to: develop and implement activities, campaigns and strategies to support the education experience at GHS; provide feedback and advice to GHS school leadership on matters relevant to the school community. Some of the activities we have been undertaken include: presentations from guest speakers on school behaviour, vaping and the Y Street Gym and Alternate Suspension program consultation on school strategic planning, mobile phone and uniform policies approval of funding for an outdoor wellbeing space and senior students space sponsoring end of year awards attending school events and participating in the recruitment of school staff All are welcome to attend our meetings held twice every term. At each meeting a special topic of interest is discussed. In 2023 the P&C heard about school behaviour policies, vaping and the Y Street Gym and Alternate Suspension program. We are always open for suggestions from the school community on topics for discussion at our meetings. 2024 School Vaccination for Year 7

Online consent for Year 7 school vaccinations If your child is in Year 7 this year, you can now provide online consent for their routine school vaccinations. In Year 7, students are offered free vaccines for diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis (dTpa) and human papillomavirus (HPV). Vaccination will only be provided at school if consent has been received. How to provide consent: To complete online consent for your child’s school vaccinations, visit: https://nswhealth.service-now.com/school Follow the steps to log in to your existing ServiceNSW account. This is the same account you may already use to renew your driver’s licence. If you don’t have a ServiceNSW account, refer to ServiceNSW to create one. Update or confirm your personal details in ServiceNSW as required. Complete the School Vaccination Consent Form for your child/ren. You will need to: a) Enter your child’s personal details b) Provide the Medicare card details for you and your child c) Read the linked Parent Information Sheet and privacy statement d) Provide consent If you or your child do not have a Medicare card, consent can still be provided by requesting a paper-based consent form directly from your child’s school. The benefits of providing consent online: easily update your child’s details receive SMS and/or email notifications when vaccinations are given faster upload of vaccination records to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR). Students have the opportunity to gain entry into the selective stream for our Year 8 to 10 Selective Classes for 2025. Applications open Friday 21 June 2024 Applications close Friday 26 July 2024 The application FORM will be available in May 2024 Gorokan High School procedures for entry in the selective stream in Years 8 to 10: submit the online application form by the due date students sit an ability test TERM 3: Friday 16 August 2024 on the day of the test, please bring previous school reports, NAPLAN results and any relevant awards the results of the application will be posted to parents in Term 4 of the current school year contact the HPGE coordinator for any assistance. benjamyn.glachan@det.nsw.edu.au ben.drelincourt1@det.nsw.edu.au What happens if the application is successful: if the student is currently enrolled at Gorokan High School, no further paperwork is necessary.
